Cross Roads

There comes a time in everyones life when they can choose the road in which they could be truly happy. A" Cross roads ", of sorts; on one side the road of true happiness, pleasure, and pristine bliss. The road which leads you home. one the other hand, if you choose the latter, the road of greed and dis-trust. The road of riches and commercialism. It's the same old tail of good and evil. A battle as old as time and space. A battle that's gone on within us, within our hearts and our minds. The easy path or the road less traveled. It's a choice each person must make themselves. The choice may be a personal decision but we're never alone with it. The journey we take with everyone. All of your loved ones travel the road with us. So before you pack your bags and start trekking think about the destination. Make sure it's a place you could take your momma. Live, love, and recycle.

Kewalo Beach Clean Up

With the success of our first beach clean up safely under our belt we have got our second in the books. I was contacted by surf corp. " Girls who Surf", last month and asked if CGCH would be interested in organizing a beach clean up during their Wahine Surf Contest. We are very excited to be involved and honored that so soon people are turning to us when looking for partnership. Now if we could only find a fiscal sponsor maybe i could sleep at night but alass thats another story all together.

Beach Clean-Up will be held at 10:00 am and will go until 1:00pm at Ala Moana Park. Meeting in the park by large parking lot next to the harbor. look for Green baloons. Without the help fromour community none of what we attemp could ever be accomplished. We depend on you

For more details or to register for Wahine Surf ( paddle or Bodyboard) Contest go to http://www.girlswhosurf.com/ or call 808-772-4583. Entries must be recieved by Mondays, September 13th.

"Project Green", art with a pupose

In the great silence of the Manoa Valley, while the whole town slept it hit me. I was puting paint to canvas, creating beauty out of chaos, but I was lost. Something that has always naturaly flowed through me like to much lemonaid. Art. My greatest passion and i'm somewhere els. My minds on "Clean and Green Campaign of Hawaii", and my love for our great island chain when it hit me. I will begin working on a fantastic new line of art pieces that would not only satisfy my un-waivering desire for artistic expression but would be guided by Clean and Green's Mission. " Project Green", was born. "Project Green", is a new line of art work constructed using non-recyclable materials destined for the landfill. Items such as beer bottle caps, old lighters, scraps of plastic and metals and soft drink toppers to name a few. Recycling the un-recyclables to create one-of-a-kind canvases that will sparkle and shine with a touch of a paint brush.

The ultimate goal of "Project Green", is to raise awareness on environmental issues such as recycling, energy waste, water conservation, sustainability and, most importantly, environmental education for our children. The children truely are our future, it's our responsibilitie to pass our wisdom along to ensure prosparity.

Great Success

The Ka'a'awa Beach Clean-up was a great success. We raised $420.00 toward applying for our 501c3 tax exempt application. The beach sparkled as well as thre people. We realy made a positive impact on the citizens of ka'a'awa. The first community beach clean-up ever organized in Ka'a'awa. Great big thank you to the Kalaka'ala family for your support. The event wouldn't have been such a success withoutt their un-waivering assistance. Mahalo to
MAC 24-7, Hula Motion, and Ka'a'awa Elementry School. Dreams come true when your wide awake.

Beach Clean-up in Ka'a'awa

The date has been set for Clean and Green Campaign's first (of many) community beach clean-ups. Our first location is Ka'a'awa Beach Park on the North west side of Oahu. We have been working dilegently, trying to raise awareness and educate Hawaii's citizens on the problems were facing concerning polutants entering our oceans. CGCH's Chairmen of the Board, Jerad Kamaka'ala said after setting out for a day of surfing off the coast in Ka'a'awa. Once reaching the breakers found himself surrounded by tiny bits and pieces of plastic. Plastic bags and cigerette butts liter the beaches and its time to make a change. We are recieving great support from the community, even the armed forces. The volunteer coordinater for the U.S Navy contacted me interested in our cause and offering the Navy's support. I mean the NAVY!

Gandhi Once Said

Gandhi once said that happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. This fundamental philosophy rings true with directing a non-profit corporation. An organization that encompasses the way you live and feel. The bliss of being true to yourself. Clean and Green Campaign of Hawaii has become my montra. Be well, god bless, and live in the now.
